Typically, when we smile, we should only show about 1-2 millimetres of gum. The spaces between the gum are called papillae. The loss of papillae can lead to an unsightly dark triangle which is not aesthetically pleasing. Sometimes the replacement of papillae cannot be possible. However, there is a range of methods at our disposal that can reduce or eradicate the problem.

Luckily, there is a range of procedures we can carry out to get your gums into line. 

Gum lifts can often be used in conjunction with veneers and crowns. To ensure the gum line is even and all teeth are in proportion with each other, gum contours can be adjusted according to the “golden proportion” of cosmetics. Post-treatment, teeth will appear to be longer and more proportionate.
